As we come to the end of the last semester of our research team, there are some bitter-sweet feelings. I am so happy I got to be part of this amazing research team led by Dr. Hildebrandt, she has done an outstanding job as our professor. This semester was more on-site based, working with the garden and their volunteers. At first there was a few unknowns, but eventually we got a hang of everything and got to learn a lot more about the garden and got a better relationship with our peers at the garden. Ashley has helped me and my group out so much this semester with countless things such as, getting us contact info to other people, helping us find resources, giving us multiple tours of the garden, lots of mentorship and more! Though we have not physically met with Robbie this semester he was still in aid and gave us some good advice via email! Me and my research team has had some adversities as you may know, but I think through that we have gotten closer and better with communicating, though nothing is perfect, but we have seen lots of progress and hopefully you have seen it as well! Though I was not able to go to this last garden visit, I was still able to get my questions answered that I had previously, thanks to my team! I have two main highlights of this semester pertaining to this class. My first one is the second to last garden visit when me and my team were able to get a very in-depth tour of the Missouri-native plant garden by Ashley. You could tell that she is very passionate about her work and excited about the garden’s future with what we are doing with them! Another very prominent memory of mine is just the time we spent in class and on the way to the gardens, the conversations had and the time we spent will forever be in my memory. I am so grateful for this entire experience and excited for what next semester has in store for me and my team!
