My journey at SIUE has been a rollercoaster. But isn’t that what life is about? I’ve been in college since July so I feel like I’ve had a just of what college is about a littler earlier than other students. Sometimes school work can be a lot, managing friendships/relationships, and even maintaining your mental health but I think it’s all about balance and I personally feel like I’ve learned how to balance things from my school life to my personal life.
One thing I’ve learned in CODES was to have patience. We work in a lot of collaborative groups and sometimes everyone’s head may not be where I’m at or it could be the other way around. It takes a lot of patience and leadership to become a successful scholar in CODES. But I’ve also learned it’s okay to take a break and regroup yourself together.
Here is an picture of me with a free kettle corn statue just promoting that there was free popcorn on campus for National Student Week at SIUE. The whole week felt great and it definitely felt like I was given a break and was really appreciated
