Nadia Harris is entering her third year at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where she is studying nursing with a minor in sociology. As of right now, Nadia plans to specialize in either Geriatrics or Postpartum; then going back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner. Nadia is apart of CODES( Community Oriented Digital Engagement Scholars). CODES is the second honors program here at SIUE, it offers the scholars a full tuition scholarship. While in CODES, Nadia’s group is focusing on the residents of Cahokia Heights, Illinois. What I’ve learned while conducting this research that will help in the future of nursing, is that different contaminants in water can lead to not only birth defects, neurological disorders, etc.
