Introduction
My work within the digital collaborations class involved me working towards a digital project detailing the history, current work, and involvement opportunities of environmental organizations in Madison County, IL with a specific highlight on the stories of individuals who work within these fields. So far, I have interviewed The Sierra Club Alton Group, Heartlands Conservancy, The Nature Institute, and the National Great Rivers Research and Education Center.
Goal 1 (20%)
(20%) Based on 2.b: Systematically and methodically analyze one’s own and others’ assumptions to develop logical plans to solve problems.
A quote from my grading contract, “I will do readings on thinking and reasoning, and will practice these skills in the context of the class.”
I believe that my participation and engagement with the reading and writing for reflection two shows my connection with the course readings and my complex interpretation of it. I will specifically cite my REFLECTION II for this, as it shows engagement with the reading of that assigned week.
Goal 2 (20%)
(20%) Based on 11.a: Evaluates texts’ scholarly significance to apply reading to other contexts or issues.
Quotes from grading contract:
- Critically thinking about class material

I believe that my reflections on the reading about “What Makes People Care” and “How to Read” show my engagement with the reading and application of them to my project.
Goal 3 (20%)
(20%) Based on 9.b: Implements solutions in a manner that address multiple contextual factors and consideration of further work needed.
My final product for the class “Wetland Warriors”looks at the mutliple factors involved in environmental organizations in this county. As far as further work, the project could use more interviewees to continue understanding the nature of environmentalism in Madison County.

My completion of Products 1 and 2 and turning them in my November 5th shows my dedication towards the team goal. Likewise, my final product WETLAND WARRIORS shows independent work towards team goals and my engagement.
Goal 5 (20%)
Based on 12.a: Help collaboration move forward by articulating the merits of alternative ideas or proposals.
From grading contract: “I will work consistently to lead my group discussions, and to make consistent planning”
I believe that my planning on the ideas of the scope of the project detail partially this leadership of discussion. I would say that I took upon the mantle of team leader by taking initiative on this project, coming up with the ideas, conducting the interviews, and doing the design and writing of the magizine which was the final project. I worked with my team mates outside of class to check in on their progress, and I believe that our success as a group was due to my idea making, effort, and the other two student’s independent work and pleasure with the project I helped formulate.
