My name is Nikyra Wheaton, and I am from Chicago, Illinois. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Sociology at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), with the goal of graduating in 2028. Following my undergraduate studies, I plan to obtain a Master’s degree in Psychology and pursue a career as a therapist, where I can help individuals improve their mental health and overall well-being.

In my free time, I enjoy singing and listening to music, which I consider a personal form of therapy. I also value spending time with my friends and family, traveling and occasionally shopping.

Throughout my personal growth, I have learned the importance of maintaining my mental and emotional health. One significant obstacle I have seen myself improve is learning not to allow others to negatively impact me mentally. This experience has taught me the value of self-care, boundaries, and putting my well-being first, which continues to shape both my personal and professional journey.
