Hello, my name is Sa’Dae Cooper, and I’m from Chicago, Illinois. While at SIUE I plan to get my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2028 and further my education by attending law school and attaining a law degree. My career goal is to be a criminal defense attorney and also take pro bono cases for defendants who were wrongfully convicted. I love to help others, and equality is very important to me.
As I go through my years at SIUE and later venture into my career, I want to implement these values and become more involved within the SIUE community. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, and hanging out with friends. As an African American coming from a low-income crime-ridden neighborhood in Chicago, I faced a lot of obstacles in my life, all that have made me strong and shaped me into the scholar I am today. I continue to persevere through obstacles every day and become stronger.
