My name is Sa’Dae Cooper, and I’m a rising junior at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I’m majoring in criminal justice studies with a minor in pre-law. I’m also a resident assistant and will be going in my second year as an RA. I’m a CODES honor scholarship recipient. CODES stands for community-oriented digital engagement scholars. During my time as a CODES scholar, I was placed in a research team where we developed a project focusing on and spreading awareness about the water equity crisis in Cahokia Heights, Illinois. After undergrad, I plan on going to law school and focusing on immigration law. I aspire to have a future career in law and become an immigration attorney. I’m a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., as part of my love to give back, I have completed multiple community service opportunities volunteer at places such as Restore decor, Cougar Cupboard, YMCA, SIUE gardens, and Feed the Streets.
