“My Journey”, yeah it hasn’t been much of a journey. Not to make it sound bad or anything, it just hasn’t been very eventful. Mainly because it has only been 1 semester so far I still have 3 1/2 years ahead of me. It is also the fact that it just feels similar to high school to me. Due to how I really only hung out with my friend group or just stayed alone. I find its easier to avoid people or get things done without having to depend on others.
Journey continuation, I’d say my journey still isn’t much of one. All that has come of it is the stress of trying to figure out what I want to do with my life and career. I still haven’t joined any clubs or anything so there is nothing to report on that front. It still feels like high school, and its repetitiveness. I find it really difficult to connect with anyone since I don’t live on campus, so I feel really out of any loop and feel like an outcast of some sort.
CODES 121: For artifacts I will include this map (https://storymap.knightlab.com/edit/?id=dp-3-tower-grove-community-development ). As currently this is probably the biggest thing I’ve done so far. Yes it may be a final group project of sorts but, I am happy with how it came out. What I learned from this project was how to become a leader of the group. As during this project there was very little to almost no communication. So I decided to try and get the group on track and put this map together. To make it easier on my groupmates and to have a place to start. I felt a lot of anxiety in the beginning and during the course of this project. I was happy when it was over, mainly because I was trying to make sure everything looked perfect when we were presenting. I think this fits into my goals/values by letting me have an opportunity to lead. I have always tried to be some sort of leader when it comes to groups of people. It’s better for my emotional health if I know I can do more to help out the group.
I have yet to join any clubs so, there is nothing there as of right now.
CODES 123: as of currently I changed my major 2 times in a matter of about a week. But I have finally settled on integrative which lets me make my own degree and focus on what I actually need to do. As I do want to be in a forensics lab but it is a stressful process of figuring out what I need to do since its a whole process. I guess my biggest accomplishment is that I made it through 2 semesters without failing a class, because I have been able to keep really good grades to the point I was on the deans list. My views might have changed a little bit, I need to figure out how they changed but I do feel there has been a change of some sort. For an artifact I will include reflections , as this shows my growth for this class and shows how much I have improved when it comes to reflecting on things.
Your “My Journey” page is a chance for you to talk about how every aspect of your experience as a student at SIUE is informing who you are.
Your “My Journey” page should tell a story using artifacts that are records of your work and achievement. That might be something you did in a class, like a paper, video, or group project. Or it might be something you did outside the classroom – a club you participated in, an organization you collaborated with, a team you played on. Your achievements don’t just happen in the classroom!
Put those artifacts in context. What did you gain or learn from the experience of producing that artifact? How did you feel about the activity before, during, and after you did it? How does it fit in with your goals, values, and/or priorities? Reflection is a crucial part of the learning process
You should use digital storytelling to take those individual artifacts and reflections and puts them together into a story of your growth and your identity. What do those artifacts tell you and tell your audience about who you are, what you value, and what you’re capable of? That can feel like a weighty task, but the “my journey” page is something you can come back to and update or revise at any time. We constantly grow and change, and so will this page.
