First-Week Introduction

There are many things that I hope to acheive this semester. More specifically, using my research, I will be able to help educate K-8 students on water ecology! It can be said that last semester I learned how to conduct different types of research such as interviews. I will be continuing that learning by meeting with both educators and organizations to cultivate lesson plans for K-8 students.

Midterm Introduction

Throughout the semester, there are many things that I have achieved! With that being said, I was able to plan and conduct interviews for my group’s upcoming water fair. I learned how to properly cultivate interview questions to investigate the community’s involvement in regards to the lack of education k-8 students have. Ultimately, I plan to share the interview results with the rest of my team in preparation for the water fair.

Final Introduction

Course Goals

Choose five goals from the CODES Student Learning Outcomes that you’d like to work toward. Choose goals that are relevant to the scope of this course, select artifacts/examples based on activities assigned for this course, and explain characteristics in a way that illustrates how your artifacts/examples demonstrate your progress toward the goal.

Provide in-depth evaluations and evidence that demonstrate a critcial understanding of material

Incorporate learning when working with outside intities such as JJK and Heartlands

In Reflection #2, I was able to create an agenda that helped guide me through the interview process. This was proven to be effective because I was able to reach my target audince and gain the perspectives of first-hand stakeholders in the community. -Illustrate complex understanding community problems and underrepresented groups

Presentations
– Presentation shows correlations to problems research

Notes
-Demonstrating thinking on organized set of documents
Provide strong evidence that demonstrates socio-economic differences

Disect and evaluate potential factors and stakeholders invovled with research

My implementation plan for my reearch demonstrates a complex thinking and while showing an organized set of documents. Here i’m identifying the problem, context and method which ensures a sucessful interview.

The second piece of evidence listed here are my revised edits to my interview questions. I found that these edits helped touch on every topic specifically and made them clear.

Here is an uncoded excerpt of my second interview that covered an organization role reagrding the question. I was able to gain insights as far as their involvement with water school, project wet, teacher workshops, and their annual water festival.

The frogwatch programs demonstrates how i’m gathering data to show how i’m enaging in conversations reagrding culture. The National Great River Museum/ Education center, explained to me the role that frogs play in our ecosystem. Furthermore, they were also able to share with me, how they are getting the community involved.

From one of my interviews, I found that the NGSS standards is one way that school districts ensure that the cirriculum is relevant.

potential solutions

My research will show my
understanding of problems
and their implications

The first piece of eveidence demonstrates my problem-solving skills as it comes to contributing to my team. Here, I am doing my part by exaplaining my research question and it’s target. With that being said, I state that there will be 3-4 interviews which was something that I was able to accomplish.

The second piece of evidence demonstrates how I am crictically thinking about my question and process for interviews. Here creating a guideline for how I want to base the question. Ultiamtely, I demonstrate all items mentioned on my chart that hightlight critical thinking, creativity, and characteristics.

The National Great River Museum/ Education center was one the most vital interviews for my research. This organization provided more than enough information regarding their involvement with the community. After speaking with staff, I was able to gain an clear understanding of how they help teacher implement water education in classrooms while making it relevant to students.
