First-Week Introduction

This semester I hope to be able to make an impact with my research! Moreover, I hope to develop my problem-solving skills and ethical awareness. I’m looking forward to publishing my research as well! I’m curious to explore the steps we will take to share our water fair toolkit. Ultimately, this semester I plan to work on gathering a full understanding of topics assigned in class so that I will be prepared.

Midterm Introduction

During this course I feel excited to embark on my research journey. I have gained a greater understanding of what it means to come up with a good dissemination plan. I want to continue developing this skill so that I can become confident in my ability to conduct effective research. This semester I have been reflective and adamant about revising anything that could improve the essence of my research. It can be said that I have already seen myself grow into a more sophisticated researcher through this class.

Final Introduction

Now that the semester is over, I feel that I met my goals, and my worries are gone. I’m confident that I’m able to apply the strategies from this class to the real world. With that being said, this semester I was able to correctly prove why water education benefits K-8 students and publish my research. Also, it helped me build upon my topic from my research class, which allowed me to explore new perspectives. Lastly, this semester inspired me to continue to work with non-profits and hopefully benefit my community in the process.

(15 %) Global Knowledge

Based on 4. A. and C. I will illustrate a complex understanding of worldwide views, experiences, and power structures. With that, I will be able to apply my knowledge and skills to help solve problems.

Reflection #3

In my original writing, I demonstrated global knowledge by writing about how communities like East St. Louis experience challenges like flooding and poverty differently. Moreover, I showed that I understood global perspectives and system dynamics, explaining that not all communities face the same challenge. My writing also demonstrated cultural competence by examining how both economic and social factors can impact a community’s ability to recover from struggles.

Emplace Contribution

This excerpt demonstrates global knowledge by demonstrating that I have engaged in meaningful conversations with people about culture and research. Through this interview process I was able to apply my knowledge and communication to help address local environmental issues.

Reflection #5

This statement demonstrates global knowledge by showing that I have critically thought about issues and challenges that communities face from a systemic level. It reflects my understanding of power structures, policy, and government. Ultimately, this statement shows that I intend to use this skill to understand and address real-world problems.

(15%) Collaboration

Based on 12. A and C. I will demonstrate my ability to be collaborative by articulating the significance of my ideas while working independently.

Group Text

Here is a group text demonstrating the communication that my group mates and I have exhibited throughout this class.

2026 Dissemination Plan

Here is the dissemination plan that demonstrates how I chose to share ideas and responsibilities with my group.

Revised Emplace Contribution

The revised emplacement contribution illustrates everything that I chose to contribute to my team.

(10%) Problem Solving

Based on 9. A. and B.: I will showcase my ability to build effective problem statements with clear evidence and accurately identify multiple solutions.

2026 Dissemination Plan

Demonstrates that we are identifying communication and plan to address it using iMessage. Recognizing how to effectively communicate, share information, and hold responsibility is important.

The Educational Blog

This illustrates problem-solving through the design of interactive activities. Demonstrates our approach to provide water as a resource for school districts and afterschool programs.

(40%) Ethical Reasoning

Based on 3. A. and B. I will successfully analyze the impact of one’s core beliefs while recognizing the connections among them.

Updated Emplace

The highlighted part demonstrates what I contributed to the research method section. It addresses ethical dilemmas that school districts face.

Presentation

This presentation demonstrates the impact of local organizations. I was able to inform the audience that these local organizations help supply teachers with material and curriculum.

The Educational Blog

The educational blog is another example of how I explained our purpose and impact. With that being said, I provided that importance of exposing K-8 students to water conservation. Ultimately, this ties into ethics because every student should be able to experience interactive water conservation learning.

Reflection #3 Reflections CODE 320

Here I am addressing the natural disasters that hit the East. St. Louis experiences. Again, I’m analyzing by posing questions. as it regards to improvement and outreach.

Author Bio

This author bio demonstrates this goal because it highlights my experiences, skills, and knowledge that I’ve gained throughout CODES. Furthermore, this application shows that listing my background is one of the key responsibilities of being a researcher and publishing research.

Presentation

This presentation showcased my ability to critically evaluate my research by organizing information and identifying its elements. This is something that I hope to continue to work on.

Reflection #5 (Reflections CODE 320)

Reflection #5 demonstrates that I’m pursuing knowledge beyond the classroom because my reflection included experiences such as my interviews and discussions. I was able to connect classroom material to the real world while expanding my knowledge in a meaningful way.
