Reflection 5

Taylor Swift is a pop culture phenomenon with an army of fans called “Swifties”. This is my audience as well as the audience of the article. There are two types of Swifties, casual or obsessed. Unfortunately, I think I know a little too much about Taylor to call myself a casual Swiftie. Casual Swifties are just a normal fan who know her songs and consider themselves a fan of her. Obsessed Swifties know the lyrics to most if not all her songs and know a lot of details about her life, unfortunately for myself I do slightly fall into this category. However, there are some Swifties who will go to great lengths on social media to defend Taylor against any hate towards her, and I simply do not care enough to do that, I just love her music and know a lot about her.

Taylor Swift is known for leaving “Easter eggs” for her fans which are hints about upcoming projects, which are left in many forms: Music Videos, her clothes, interviews, and even just social media posts. So Swifties like to overanalyze every little thing that Taylor Swift does to try and find easter eggs, a lot of the time these easter egg theories lead to nothing. Obviously, I cannot leave easter eggs for upcoming Taylor Swift projects, but I feel like referencing just lyrics and or just famous quotes of Taylor Swift would be a good way to connect to her fans. There is also a gigantic base of Swifties on TikTok and this “side” of TikTok is called “SwiftTok”. So, if I made my video a TikTok, there is a good chance I would reach the Swifties.
