Introduction
In this section of the portfolio, speak in broad strokes about the skills and content you’ve learned during the first half of the semester. What did you most enjoy? What did you struggle with? What goals do you think you’ve most excelled at meeting and what do you want to continue developing during the second half of the semester?
Goal 1 (5%)
13c: Uses language to skillfully communicate with clarity and fluency.
[add an artifact or two here and a few sentences about how the artifact demonstrates your learning; you should talk about process. How did this assignment help you develop a new skill, push you to try something new? What might you do differently next time? Note that when you have a heavily weighted goal, you should include more than one artifact]
Goal 2 (5%)
8.c: Develops clear, innovative central messages with significant supporting material.
In this goal I picked my source analysis number 5. This particularly talks about the Archives at the MBG and with that the message that I took from not only the basement but looking at the artifacts especially with Andrew and the written Tax documents. From this I related my major which is Business to the idea of these documents that were old and how not only writing has advanced over 200years but also the technology that comes with it.
Goal 3 (10%)
11.a: Evaluates texts’ scholarly significance to apply reading to other context or issues.
Doing this Current State Analysis Summary really opened my eyes into analyzing this piece of text from sustainable world. In chapter 3 the text focused heavily on a TSR farmwork and how the issues related in the sustainable world text translated to our wicked problem with coming up with ideas with the MBG and possible solutions.
Goal 4 (70%)
2b) Take risks in assignments and in approaches to learning to create new knowledge.
In these assignments I compared my Current State Analysis (one on the left) to my first Source Analysis (one on right). As I was writing my first Source Analysis I looked back, and I thought I could do better. Differentiating better my strengths and weaknesses with my first one I decided to take it a step further and expand my knowledge as well as writing to a more in dept take then just my opinion.
Goal 5 (10%)
5.a: Defines the scope of research questions effectively and selects information cogently to address them.
