My name is Zuleyri Medina-Campos, and I am currently a sophomore at SIUE, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Pre-law. My professional goal is to become an immigration attorney, and ultimately, I aspire to open my own law firm, allowing me to take on meaningful cases while being my own boss.
Some of my key experiences have been instrumental in shaping my academic and professional journey. I earned my Seal of Biliteracy, which not only recognizes my proficiency in multiple languages but also reflects my dedication to bridging cultural and linguistic gaps—an important skill in the legal field, particularly in immigration law. Additionally, I was honored to receive the CODES full-tuition scholarship, which has provided me with significant financial support and motivated me to maintain high academic standards while pursuing my professional aspirations. Another major experience has been my involvement in a big group project that I have been working on since my first semester of college. This project has taught me invaluable lessons in collaboration, leadership, and long-term project management, as I have learned to coordinate with peers, overcome challenges, and contribute to a shared goal consistently over time.
From these experiences, I have learned that discipline, resilience, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams are essential for success in both academic and professional settings. They have also reinforced my commitment to my career goals, giving me the confidence and skills necessary to navigate the challenges of law school and a future legal career.
My future goals is to graduate and go to law school in Chicago.
