Our project is based on getting young adults engaged in conservation. Conservation is important especially to imply at a young age so individuals can later grow to be comfortable with conserving for our earth. Our goal is to reach young adults ages 18-25 such as college students. We chose to mainly focus on young adults because we are the future generation. We chose young adults because we are young adults, and we relate to this age group since we are in the age group and of course it is also an easy way to get our answer. Being in the same age group helps us narrow down why exactly some young adults are not engaged in conservation activities. We best understand young adults which helps us answer our wicked problem. Each and every day we step a foot forward towards adulthood. We are the next generation expected to make a change in our world. Our generation in general is already known for being firm and conservative. We set trends every day that shows we are up next. Our generation also normalizes being “influenced” and I mention this because if a young adult sees another young adult participating in water conservation that may influence another young adult to participate in water conservation and so on. The relevant stakeholders in our project would be young adults, our community partners, and ourselves. I say our main stakeholders are young adults because our project evolves around young adults. Young adults shape our work because that is our main focus. Young adults are who we are studying and would like to reach. They allow us to conduct a study of why some young adults do not engage in conservation and with that it allows us to find a solution to this. We play a role because we are the ones conducting the experiment and our community partner helps us be hand-on our project.
