The process of receiving feedback looks like for me is of course, doing the required assignment due. The most important step in receiving feedback after doing an assignment, is turning it in. With turning in the assignment, it will allow me to receive feedback from my professor or whatever the case may be. I later take the feedback in consideration and adjust what I am working on. I typically take feedback lightly and don’t think much of it. I genuinely love hearing others point of view of things to better my performance. I receive feedback as help instead of downplaying it and assuming my work is not good. In my opinion, feedback is important to make sure I’m on the right the track. Now of course, it’s always tone and delivery that should be considered while giving feedback. Giving feedback is a whole different ball game. I am in control of my own opinions and have to keep the other individual’s feelings in consideration. When I give feedback, I try my best to choose my words wisely. I never want to make someone feel a certain way by the way I say things because I wouldn’t want that being done to me. Plus, I’m really big on tone and delivery. It’s a way you should say things to reduce making others feel like your approach was neglectful. Listening is a big factor in giving feedback as well. What I can do to give better feedback is just keeping the other person in consideration really and how I say things. It took me a minute to take people’s feedback in a right manner because I always had the mindset as if I was always right, but as I grew older I learned to realize that I am not always right and it is okay to receive guidance and help.
