I’m from Green Bay, WI, but I’ve moved around a lot. Currently, St. Louis is home to me. (I’m still a diehard Packers fan, though!) I love exploring all the history, culture, and food the St. Louis region has to offer.

Moving around when I was growing up was sometimes a big challenge. I sometimes felt like I didn’t have a community or a sense of place – like I didn’t know where I belonged. Now that I’m a little more rooted, I try to be really intentional about finding and building community wherever I am.

I’m a history major, and I’m especially in medieval history. Although people often picture knights and peasants (and maybe hold some negative ideas about the “Dark Ages”), I love digging into the ways that people challenged authority in unexpected ways and developed creative ways of expressing their identities. (You can maybe see how my research interests are connected to my own experiences of trying to understand who I am, where I’m from, and what communities I belong to.)

As far as my career goes, I want a job with a lot of variety. I love research, but I also love helping other people get excited about learning and creating things. Once I graduate in 2027, I’m planning to go to grad school and pursue a teaching career.

In my spare time, I dabble in lots of hobbies, but a lot of them involve making things. I do a lot of crafts, like quilting and cross stitch. I garden (although not very well!). And I love DIY stuff around the house, especially when it involves building. I like to be outside, too, so I do a lot of hiking and biking.
