Semester #1
SIUE has informed me of many things about myself already. One of these things is that I am alright when recording videos.
When recording this video, I did the analysis of the piece of journalism and worked with the paper itself. When I started to record however, things took a turn. I started to do better when being “goofy” when the camera was on rather than serious.
Another way that I have discovered myself is through a group called InterVarsity. They are a Christian group on campus, and they are very friendly.
They have helped me to connect with other Christians on campus, and also to be more open with my beliefs.
Semester #2
During my second semester at SIUE, I have learned that it is nowhere near as easy as the first semester. The first semester of college is mainly the introductory step, having semi-easy classes, going to decently hard classes. I have struggled in one class in particular, and that is Discrete Mathematics. I am not sure if I will be able to pass the class or not, but I am hoping that I am able to.
I have been able to contribute to my goals this semester, mainly contributing to group work and having my own work turned in on time.
One way that I have contributed to group work and getting my work done on time is my part in our final project for our research team.
This class has also given me the idea that if we get an idea that could help the community and we have backing with that idea, then we can do it. Getting this information about the Botanical garden out to the public would be beneficial.
