Introduction

During this first half of the semester, I have learned how to collaborate more effectively and be more open to feedback from members on my team. Their feedback on my work is one of the most helpful things I have noticed on my work. I have enjoyed becoming closer with the students in the other research group, and to be able to hear all of their projects. It was something we really needed, to come together and discuss how each group can collaborate. I don’t think I have struggled with anything in this class so far. I want to continue to grow close to my other team members since this is our last semester in a research team.

Goal 1 (30%)

1a) Demonstrates ability and commitment to collaboratively work across and within community contexts and structures (30%).

In the first pieces of evidence, shown is our Dear Sean letter. When we were tasked with writing this deeply detail oriented letter to present to our Garden partners, we knew we needed to divide and conquer to get the best work done in the most effective time. As you can see, the work was divided up between each person in our group. When we were working on this in class, we were always asking for each others advice on what we were saying. This is because we each care about how our work all flows together.

My next piece of evidence is our implementation plan. All members of our group worked on this implementation plan. We all worked on it together in class, and finished it that day minus a few little tweaks because we all worked together.

Goal 2 (15%)

1b.) Connects and extends knowledge from academic study to civic engagement (15%).

I had stated in my grading contract that this learning outcome would go with 1a. I have provided my reflection #2, and also my feedback from that reflection. I have been trying to make connections and build off of what I already know to make good reflections.

Goal 3 (15%)

4c.) Applies knowledge and skills to implement sophisticated, workable solutions to address complex global problems using interdisciplinary perspectives (15%).

Above are the questions that we are taking to our mentors next week at the Garden. Within the asking of these questions, we had to come up with the possibilities of different things that could maybe go wrong, so we can properly prepare.

Goal 4 (20%)

12a.) Helps collaboration move forward by articulating the merits of alternative ideas (20%).

This goal, I can not add anything to yet because we have not workshopped with our mentors yet.

Goal 5 (20%)

13a.) Demonstrates a thorough understanding of context, audience, and purpose (20%).

We have not had any reading assignments, so I can not yet add to this learning goal either.
