Tamiria Dixon is a college student majoring in social work. She has a strong passion for supporting individuals facing mental health challenges. Currently pursuing her undergraduate degree, she is especially interested in becoming a medical social worker. Tamiria combines her academic studies with hands-on experience to better understand and serve diverse populations.
She has gained valuable work experience with NACWC and CODES, where she developed skills in communication, client support, and advocacy. These experiences, along with her coursework in social welfare policy, ethics, and culturally responsive practice, have strengthened her ability to approach situations with empathy and professionalism.
Additionally, her personal experience supporting her dad with PTSD and bipolar disorder has greatly influenced her commitment to helping others. Tamiria’s future goal is to work in a health care setting as a medical social worker, providing resources, emotional support, and advocacy for patients and their families.
