Introduction
This semester has taught me a lot about different research methods and how to go about using them effectively. I have also been able to put these methods to the test myself and see which one is effective. I like ethnography because you can blend in and just study people without many people noticing. It also makes you think if someone is doing an ethnography on you right now. I believe that I have done well with Goals 2, 3, and 5. This means that I still need to work on Goals 1 and 4.
Goal #1 (20%)
4.B: Uses deep knowledge of global systems to develop and advocate for informed, appropriate action to solve complex problems.
This was the document that I and my group members in the research team came up with. This is a collection of our questions to ask the garden staff and surrounding area. This contributes to the overall idea of how to solve the problem of not having the garden’s history of slavery on display.
Goal #2 (10%)
8.A: Uses clear organizational patterns and is skillful at presenting content cohesively.
Goal #3 (20%)
12.A: Helps collaboration move forward by articulating the merits of alternative ideas.
I contributed a couple of questions to this document. In this way, I was able to contribute to alternative ideas of questions for the interview that we had to conduct.
Goal #4 (10%)
13.C: Uses language to skillfully communicate with clarity and fluency.
I believe that this reflection showed how well I can write. If I put my mind to something then I can deliver messages effectively.
Goal #5 (40%)
12.C: Works independently toward goals by contributing and meeting deadlines.
This was an interview transcription that we had to do for class. I was able to transcribe all of the interview manually before the deadline. I believe that this shows how I am able to do things before the deadline.
